Sept. 3, began like any other day for us. I was working with Jonathan on his school work, Jeff was looking for work, and Becca was at school. That afternoon Jeff received a phone call back about a campground attendant position in Watts, Okla. We decided to go check it out the next afternoon. We prayed and prayed about it. Talked about the pros and cons of the job.
Sept. 4, the drive to Watts began and we prayed as we drove. I told Jeff that I felt good about this!!! As we drove up to the campground, which is located on the Illinois River, our jaws dropped!! What a beautiful place!!! We looked around, met with the owner, and instantly fell in love with the place! As we visited with the owner, she received a phone call from some people wanting to camp for the weekend and come in the next day (this was on Wednesday). She looked at us and asked if we wanted the job and if we could be here by 2 p.m. the next day! We said YES!!!! We went home so excited!! We still had to tell Becca. She was really sad as she had to leave her friends, but little did she know that she would fall in love with the river as well!
Sept. 5, we loaded the car and drove to our new home......a small 2 room cabin on the beautiful Illinois River!!! Of course, Jeff, Jonathan and I were so excited. Becca was still skeptical about the whole thing till we pulled up and she saw the river!! She instantly fell in love like we did!
Since then we have spent numerous hours in the river, fishing and just gazing at God's amazing works!!! Every morning I have woke up before everyone else and sit on our little porch amazed that the Lord has blessed us to wake up to this incredible view every morning!!
We have had our challenges, but are thankful for the opportunities the Lord has set before us!! This is exactly what we needed!! A new start!!!
